Ray J. Artiano is a mediator based in San Diego, handling cases throughout California. Mr. Artiano has over four decades of experience as a litigator and since 2018 has been a full-time mediator. His experience covers a broad range of practice areas as an attorney for both plaintiffs and defendants in both state and federal courts. His background representing both sides allows him to quickly and fairly evaluate the relative strengths and weaknesses in the parties’ positions in each case before him. He is a tenacious mediator, dedicated to achieving a resolution which satisfies all of those involved. Mr. Artiano believes that if parties are willing to enter into mediation, there is no case too complex to resolve.
Mr. Artiano has been an attorney since 1979, and a mediator since 2018. He was a founding partner of Stutz Artiano Shinoff & Holtz (1982-2018). Although SASH was known primarily as a defense firm, during the last 15 years of his active law practice, his caseload was divided between representation of both plaintiffs and defendants. He has represented individuals, Fortune 500 companies and public entities. Since 2018, Mr Artiano has served exclusively as a mediator. Prior to establishing Artiano Mediations, he was with ADR Services, focusing nearly exclusively on employment matters. Mr. Artiano has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 1992. He is a former adjunct professor of law. has served as a judge pro-tem in Superior Court and is a frequent lecturer and author on a number of legal topics, including mediation. He has an AV-Preeminent Peer Rating by Martindale-Hubbell and admitted to practice before all courts in California as well as the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Artiano is a former member of the American College of Barristers and the Presidential Business Commission.
